Read the article below entitled Cape Wind Energy Project. After completing the reading, go to the discussion board and answer the following. You should also read peer responses and respond (at least 2) where appropriate.

Article Questions:
1) What is a wind farm?

2) The Secretary of interior approved this project with stipulations due to the "potential adverse impacts
of construction and operation of the facility". What do you anticipate some adverse impacts of this project to be?

3) What are carbon dioxide emissions, what produces them (in addition to conventional power plants), and what effects do they have on the earth?

Physics Relevance:
Explain how a wind turbine works using the physics you have learned in class.

Your Opinion:
Do you think that the construction of the $1 billion wind farm is worth the money?? Explain. (Hint - think electricity generate costs, potential long term benefits/drawbacks).

**You will not be graded on grammar, spelling, or punctuation; however, I expect all responses to be in complete sentences. Your grade will primarily depend on the thoughtfulness and articulation of your response! See the rubric below for full details of grading procedure.
